How it works

From the truck to the customer's inbox in five minutes.

Field is what shows up when you flip Zeno into Field mode. The whole pack is built around one thing: turning what you see on a jobsite into something the customer can read.

1 Tune Zeno to your trade

Six questions. Then Zeno writes like you.

The first time you open Field, Zeno asks how you work. Your trade, your job types, what you call your customers, your estimate style, your default follow-up tone, and your business name for the PDF header. Every output after that uses those answers.

  • 7 trades + Other — Handyman, GC, Plumber, Electrician, Painter, HVAC, Roofer
  • 4 estimate styles — Detailed line-item · Simple totals · Conservative range · Time + materials
  • 4 tones — Casual · Professional · Direct · Warm & detailed
  • Business name — used on every exported PDF estimate, summary, and invoice
2 Land in Field Mode

One home screen, built for one hand.

Open the app, tap into Field, and you're home. The most recent job is at the top — one tap to pick up where you left off. The next row covers everything else you'd do at a jobsite: new job, capture photos, log notes, draft an estimate, send a summary, follow up.

  • "Continue" tile keeps the active job one tap away
  • Always-on OFFLINE READY chip with live saved-job count
  • Same bottom nav as the rest of Zeno — no new tabs to learn
3 Start a job

Five fields. Two seconds.

Title, customer name, address, estimating notes, tags. Only title and customer are required — because every shop is different and Zeno doesn't pretend otherwise. Everything saves on-device the moment you tap Create.

  • Auto-capitalised customer name and address
  • Comma-separated tags so jobs find each other later
  • One-tap Undo on the snackbar if you mis-tap Create
4 Capture site notes — voice or typed

Talk to your phone. Get a clean field log.

Every job has a Field Log. Dictate it walking around the site, type it sitting in your truck, or both. Photos attach with one tap and tag themselves to the active job. Logs save offline first, sync when you're back in signal.

  • Three statuses — Estimating · In progress · Complete
  • Photos route through the OS camera and into the Media Vault
  • Logs auto-flag so Draft Estimate and Customer Summary can find them
5 Estimate. Summary. Invoice. PDF.

Two taps. One draft. You review before anything leaves.

The Job Detail screen has five primary actions: Draft estimate · Summary · Add photo · Add log · Invoice. Tap any output, and Zeno reads your setup answers, the job's field logs, and any tagged memories, then writes a draft in your voice. Export as branded PDF when you're ready. You always review. Zeno never auto-sends.

  • Estimates render in the style you picked at setup — line-item, totals, range, or T+M
  • Summaries are warm + concise, signed with your name, no pricing
  • Convert any estimate to an invoice in two taps — line items, tax, deposit, terms pre-filled
  • PDF export with your business name + amber accent, US Letter, shared via the OS share sheet
  • Mark invoices paid when the check clears — full lead → quoted → invoiced → paid lifecycle
What Field creates

Seven job-shaped outputs. Written in your voice.

Every output is generated from the same source: your setup answers, the job's field logs, and the photos you've captured. You can edit any of them before sending — or export to a branded PDF.

Job log

Time-stamped notes per visit. Voice-dictated or typed, tagged to the job, searchable across every customer you've ever worked with.

Estimate draft

Line-item, totals, conservative range, or time + materials — whichever style you picked at setup. Drafted on-device from your logs.

Customer summary

A warm, plain-language update for the customer. No pricing. Signed with your name. Sounds like you on a good day.

Invoice

Convert any estimate to an invoice in two taps. Line items, tax, deposit, terms — pre-filled. Mark paid when the check clears.

Punch list

Open vs done count per job. Tap to mark complete. Pulled from your field logs by Zeno so you don't have to track it twice.

Photos

Photos auto-tag to the job and surface in your Media Vault. Pair before/after in seconds for a customer-ready visual receipt.

Follow-up message

Drafted from the last field log and the customer's history. Opens your SMS or email composer pre-filled — you tap send.

Real example outputs

Site notes go in. Customer-ready drafts come out.

Both of these were drafted from the same job — a kitchen reno visit for Maria Reyes. Same logs, two tones, you choose which to send.

Range $800–$950 depending on tile-cut yield. Materials confirmed in stock with supplier. Quoted Tuesday for Saturday start.
Warm customer summary Hi Maria,

Quick update after today's walkthrough. I found cracked grout along the shower wall and confirmed your tile is still in stock — so we can match it without re-cutting.

Estimated range is $800–$950 including materials and a 4-hour repair window. I'd plan to start Saturday morning if that works, and I'll have the formal estimate to you by Tuesday.

Holler if you'd rather move things around. Thanks for the coffee.

Two promises every Field user gets, every time: it works without signal, and your customer data stays on your phone unless you ship it somewhere yourself.

Works on a jobsite with no signal

Capturing logs, snapping photos, building punch lists, drafting estimates and invoices, and exporting PDFs all run on-device. No internet required. Sync to cloud only when you turn it on per pack.

Frequently asked

Questions other contractors asked before buying.

Most of these come from the first 50 conversations we had with handymen and GCs about what they actually wanted Field to do.

What is the Zeno Field Pack?
Field is the first paid workflow pack inside Zeno, a private AI assistant for your phone. It turns a normal jobsite visit — your voice notes, photos, and a couple of taps — into a customer-ready estimate, punch list, and summary message. It costs $49 one-time and runs offline.
How does Zeno write estimates from my notes?
During the 6-question setup, you tell Field how you estimate (detailed line-item, simple totals, conservative range, or time + materials) and what tone you use with customers. When you tap Draft estimate on a job, Zeno reads that job's field logs and writes a draft in your chosen style. You always review and edit before anything goes out — Zeno never auto-sends.
Can I send invoices and get paid?
Yes. Every estimate can be converted to an invoice in two taps — the line items, tax rate, deposit, and your terms pre-fill from the estimate so you don't re-type. Export as a branded PDF (with your business name in the header) and share through your phone's normal Messages, Mail, or share sheet. Mark the invoice Paid when the check clears. Job statuses track the full lead → quoted → invoiced → paid lifecycle.
Will it work offline on a jobsite?
Yes. Job logs, photos, punch lists, voice notes, on-device estimate and invoice drafts, and PDF export all work without internet. Cloud sync (optional) and SMS/email send are the only things that need a signal.
Does Zeno send messages on my behalf?
Never. The Send to customer helper opens your phone's SMS or email composer with the draft pre-filled. You see it, edit it, hit send. Zeno does not have, and will never silently obtain, the ability to send messages for you. This is a hard rule in the product spec.
Will Zeno learn how I write?
Yes — through your setup answers and a small per-pack memory store. Field remembers what you call your customers ("clients" vs "homeowners"), your estimate style, your tone preference, your sign-off, and your business name (printed on every exported PDF). Every draft uses those. You can update them in Settings any time.
Which trades is Zeno Field built for?
Out of the box: Handyman, GC, Plumber, Electrician, Painter, HVAC, Roofer. There's an "Other" option for mobile services and inspectors that don't fit those buckets. The estimate styles and tones cover most jobsite-shaped work.
Can I edit the AI output before sending?
Always. Every generated estimate and summary opens in an editable view. Edits save back to the same draft in your Saved Outputs. Nothing gets sent without you tapping a Send button yourself.
Is my customer data stored anywhere besides my phone?
No, by default. Zeno's database lives on your device, encrypted at rest. Cloud sync is optional and off by default — when you turn it on, you can scope which packs sync. Field's whole point is that your customer list isn't somebody else's training data.
